You cannot walk by this plant without noticing; bold upright leaves and a showy landscape look. "Hosta of the Year" winner. Hostas grow best in shady areas out of the direct sun, and are used to liven up shaded areas beneath trees. Plant in garden beds en masse as a ground cover, or in patio pots. Hostas thrive in moist, well drained soil which is slightly acidic. Keep the soil moist but not saturated.
